The PremiumShield® paint protection film creates a crystal clear invisible barrier between the surface and the everyday rigours of the outside world. As a result, the underlying surface remains in as new condition for years, as if the vehicle had just left the showroom. It prevents scratches and swirls in the paint when the vehicle is washed and has a higher gloss level than the paint.
This makes it virtually invisible. Whilst stone chips and scratches cannot damage the paint – and that is what matters. PremiumShield® is resilient and dampens any impact on the paint from the likes of stones and gravel, branches and desert sand. 90% of everyday damage to paints is prevented with PremiumShield®.
Paint Protection Film provides protection from rock chips, minor scratches, harmful effects of chemicals, bird droppings, and other roadway hazards.
Paint Protection Film is not designed to stop or prevent damage to the vehicle body. Most films have a self-healing property which is designed to repair itself from swirl marks and light scratches.
However, if a piece of debris penetrates this layer of the film the self-healing property will no longer function.
You can have your car repaired and repainted because you had stone chips. However, the originality has now gone – plus the integrity of the vehicle is now in doubt – was it just stone chips or a larger accident? For the same cost, you could have had PremiumShield® installed and enjoy driving carefree, without any potential paint damage now or in the future! The vehicle will command a higher value during trade-in or resale.
There is no special maintenance required for maintaining Paint Protection Film as compared to paint.
However to keep the car looking new and easier to clean we recommend using PremiumShield®Shampoo for washing your vehicle, as well as PremiumShield®Spray & Shine and PremiumShield®Premium Seal every 3-6 months.
Please see Film Care for additional recommendations.
No! PremiumShield® protects the paint against damage and keeps it in showroom condition year after year, while the film itself remains virtually invisible.
No, you can simply wash you and wax your car, however we do recommend some small changes to your washing routine to ensure the longevity of your film (see our After Care advice).
While coatings can be applied to Paint Protection Film, it typically is not necessary and can provide a wide variety of results.
We recommend consulting with your installer or the manufacturer of the coating and testing a small discreet area first.
We do not recommend applying Paint Protection Film on top of a ceramic coating.
Yes. PremiumShield® has a patented acrylic adhesive layer that can be removed safely, without residue even years after application without affecting the paint.
Applying Paint Protection Film can be challenging for even those that are properly trained.
It is highly recommended that the film is installed by a professional.

Our design team works tirelessly to provide patterns for most make and models of vehicles. The film is cut using the pattern specific to your vehicle for a much more consistent fitting. This helps reduce the risk of “cutting” on the car with a sharp blade.
If you can’t find the pattern you need, just email us at sales@premiumshield.com to let us know the details – we’re always happy to add a new pattern to our portfolio.
Paint Protection Film can be applied to areas of the vehicle that have been professionally painted.
These areas include but are not limited to bumpers, fenders, hood/bonnet, mirrors, doors, roof, and trunk/boot.
See our in-depth After Care advice for more ways to maintain paint protection film.
Pricing can vary depending on the market, extent of coverage, and type of vehicle.

Yes. every paint does that. PremiumShield® is UV stable and will not discolor, but the UV radiation is transmitted allowing the paint to age at the same rate under the film as those areas which remain unprotected.

Which is better: having to repaint a bumper, hood, wing or mirrors, with the risk of color difference and ultimately losing the original factory paint, giving a lower trade-in value, making the integrity of the vehicle questionable; Or have one-off a PremiumShield® kit installed and then enjoy your vehicle for years without any worries whilst demonstrating to potential future purchasers that you have cared for your vehicle.
